The RCIA or the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process by which interested persons become members of the Catholic Church.  Originating in the earliest traditions of the Church, it is primarily a journey of faith.  Weekly meetings for prayer, reflection on the Word of God, study, discussion, and worship with the St. James faith community, all work together to help you find your spiritual home. Perhaps the example of family members, or the influence of friends, or possibly your own exploration of the Catholic faith has awakened a desire within you to learn more about the beliefs and teachings of the Church. Whatever your reason, now may be the time for you to explore these issues.  RCIA provides you an opportunity to grow in your faith and in your knowledge of the Catholic tradition. If one of the following situations applies to you, then you are invited to come and journey with us.

 1. You are a Catholic but have not received the Sacrament of First Communion or Confirmation; or would just like to learn more about the Church
 2. You are a member of another faith community and would like to become a member of the Catholic Church
 3. You are not an active member of any particular faith group but are searching and interested in learning more about the Catholic faith
