The priest, together with our Sick and Homebound Ministers, reflects our communal life and duty as Church. The priest specifically brings the Lord's healing to these times through the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Anointing. Gathering around the patient, with family, friends, and ministers, a community is formed and the priest celebrates the Anointing and Communion, or “Viaticum”, if needed. This reveals the true nature of the Church's presence, care and concern and offers spiritual support to strengthen and heal the sick or dying member and for the family.
