Dominican Sister of Saint Cecilia
Saint James Catholic Church was excited to welcome members of the Dominican Sisters as they joined the parish community in the summer of 2016. Three Dominican sisters joined the parish – Sister Marie Hannah Seiler, OP, who began serving as the principal of Saint James Catholic School with the start of the 2016-2017 school year, Sister Maria Clemens Wolf O.P. teaching 2nd grade, and Sister Augusta Nickel, O.P. serving in parish ministries assisting with both religious education within the school as well as faith formation for all parishioners.
The Motherhouse for the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia Congregation is located in Nashville, Tennessee. For more than 150 years, they have served the Church through their religious life and educational ministry. The Congregation is serving in 43 schools in 23 dioceses within the United States and will add Saint James Catholic School to this list beginning with the next school year. This will be the first mission of the Dominican Sisters in the state of Kentucky and the Archdiocese of Louisville as well. With a median age of 36, the community is thriving and growing.

The Dominican Sisters are not just spiritual and committed to their vowed life, but they provide an overwhelming sense of joy for the work they do, service to God and others. It is difficult to imagine today the impact and influence they will have on our spiritual lives and educational endeavors in the days and years ahead.”

Saint Vincent de Paul Outreach
The Saint Vincent de Paul Society provides spiritual and material assistance to those who are financially unable to meet basic needs such as rent, utilities and food. Volunteers strive to aid clients in helping themselves. The society is run by volunteers and 99% of all donations are directed toward assistance those less fortunate in Elizabethtown and Southern Hardin County.
The Saint Vincent de Paul Society is located on the Saint James Catholic Church campus at 307 West Dixie Avenue in Batcheldor Hall.

Family Renewal Project
Family Renewal Project is a lay Catholic apostolate established in 2016 to help “restore the family and renew the culture by educating and forming men and women to understand, embrace, and live authentic love and responsibility.” We strive to connect persons of all ages with the message of Saint John Paul II’s Theology of the Body through various programming and events.
We collaborate with St. James Parish to provide speakers and learning opportunities for various groups. Please contact us if you are interested in scheduling.
Additionally, Family Renewal Project provides Psychological Services for individuals and families through Good Shepherd Institute of the Bluegrass. Therapy services include: adult, children and adolescents (age 5-17), parenting, couples, families, groups, as well as substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, grief support and more.
